Bear Mountain Metal Art is based out of Fort Collins, Colorado and operated by artist Bobby Singleton. The silver foreground of the art is made by drawing the design on a sheet of aircraft aluminum and using a hand-held plasma cutter to cut out the shape. Grinding a pattern into the aluminum then adds texture and depth.
The unique background color on this artwork is created by naturally aging the steel for more than 8 weeks to achieve an all-natural, rustic-colored patina with beautiful accents of brown and copper. The piece is put together with spacers separating each layer by 1/8 of an inch to add depth and a slight shadowing effect. The piece is finished with three layers of automotive clear coat to seal in the patina.
The end result is a one-of-a-kind showpiece. Bobby's inspiration comes from his many years of exploring Colorado's backcountry and observing the abundant wildlife in the area. Bear Mountain Metal Art can also make larger artwork, custom pieces, and even company logos on request.
